Travelers know how to find their way to this large state with its capital Dresden. The Dutch are the largest group of international visitors almost every year. The interest translates into a large presence at the Vakantiebeurs in Utrecht from January 12 to 15, 2023. In addition to the Saxon Tourist Board, these local partners will be present: Dresden, Leipzig, the Semperopera and the historic towns of Bautzen, Görlitz and Zittau from the nature-rich region of Upper Lusatia. All booths from Saxony are together in the large Germany Pavilion in Hall 9 (booth numbers D.04 to D.09). www.saksen.info Dresden Elbland The skyline of Dresden is among the most beautiful in Europe. Because of its many impressive buildings, it is also called the "Florence on the Elbe. A beautiful city, where architecture and art harmonize perfectly. In the baroque Altstadt, such landmarks as the Frauenkirche, Semper Opera and the Zwinger Palace shine. One of the most famous sights, the Green Vaults in the Residence Palace, will celebrate its 300th anniversary in 2023. This treasury of the former Saxon princes houses enormous riches, including a huge diamond that is among the most expensive gems in the world. Also new is Dresden Elbland's entry into the German Tourist Board's Orange Route. Walk in the footsteps of Anna of Saxony, the 2nd wife of William of Orange. Her tomb can be found in the Cathedral of the porcelain city of Meissen, but there are more locations that recall her life. Dresden is located in green surroundings with forests and moors as well as the Elbe River with vineyards along its banks. This vibrant city will surprise many. It is also a city of music and great composers worked here, including Bach and Wagner. The city thrived on textiles and weaving, and the old city center is a treasure trove in itself. The atmosphere is well experienced in the large market square with a town hall in the style of an Italian palace and St. John's Church. One of the attractions is the huge tapestry (Fastentuch) with the Biblical story. With nearly 4,000 monumental buildings, one of the most beautiful towns in Germany. The city was divided in 1945 because the Neisse River became the new border with Poland. Since then, Görlitz has been a divided city, whose old center is
