Hohenzollern Castle

Hohenzollern Castle

Hohenzollern Castle is the ancestral home of the Hohenzollern family, which produced Swabian counts and princes as well as Prussian kings and also German emperors. The present castle is the third fortification on the Zollerberg. After the destruction and decay of its two predecessors from the 11th and 15th centuries, it was rebuilt from 1850 to 1867 and is still privately owned by the Hohenzollern family.Today, Hohenzollern Castle presents itself as a museum complex that combines liveliness with deceleration. Visitors can stroll through the royal chambers at their own pace, where trained staff are on hand to answer questions. In addition to the magnificent Count's Hall and the Blue Salon, the Treasury is particularly impressive. And recently, it has also been possible to visit the prince's apartment, which was previously part of the private wing. The castle's own restaurant and beer garden serve regional specialties as well as vegetarian and vegan delicacies.
