Epirus is a region of mainland Greece. Perhaps not so well known yet, but the coastal towns of Parga and Sivota are popular vacation destinations and also with the Dutch. Discover for yourself UNESCO site Zagoria, the rugged nature reserve of Tzoumerka and the cozy Greek town of Ioannina. At Vakantiebeurs, go to Hall 8 for tips, where a team from Epirus is ready for you daily at booth D064.

Zagoria

Zagoria was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in September. These are the unique villages you can visit and stay in, by the way. And there is plenty to see and explore, including the stone arch bridges and the Vikos Gorge. This gorge is not only a beautiful natural area in Zagoria, but also the deepest gorge in the world.

Tzoumerka

Tzoumerka is the unknown and rugged nature reserve. A valhalla for peace seekers, nature lovers and hikers. The ideal way to discover Tzoumerka is with a fly-drive. This way you can hop from one hotel to another and hike to, for example, the highest waterfall in Greece. There is no mass tourism here.

Ioannina

Ioannina is the capital of Epirus and is situated on a large lake. The pleasant promenade runs along the Kastro to an area full of terraced bars and restaurants. A real student town where you can eat well and where it is always lively until late at night. Enjoy a boat trip across the lake to the inhabited island without a name.

Rafting and canoeing

In Epirus, in Zagoria and Tzoumerka, clean water flows in the rivers all year round. You can therefore raft and canoe in the river all year round. Very cool and it is for anyone in possession of a swimming certificate. If you go on vacation to Parga or Sivota, it is also fun to book a day excursion at Alpine Zone.

At booth D064 in Hall 8 of Epirus Holidays, you can meet four entrepreneurs from this region and pick up a free KALA Magazine summer '24. Here both Zagoria, Tzoumerka and Ioannina are described in Dutch with practical tips and how to get there.
