In an online survey conducted by Greece.net in recent months, visitors could vote for their favorite Greek destination for the summer of 2024. With 16% of the total votes (1,116), Crete was almost unanimously chosen as the target on the 'bucket list' for upcoming summer vacations. Samos and Corfu also scored high with the Dutch for a vacation in 2024. A total of seventeen different Greek destinations with their own airports could be chosen from. Choice of two airports for Crete
From the Netherlands, there are flights to both Heraklion Airport (HER) and Chania Airport (CHQ). Heraklion is popular for places like Chersonissos, Malia and Koutouloufari. Chania is of interest for western Crete with the cities of Chania and Rethymnon. Of course, from here you can go nicely to the exotic beaches of Balos and Elafonisi.
