Travel Talent Event

Are you a motivated student with an interest in the travel industry and curious about the opportunities the sector offers after you graduate? Who better to inform you about the opportunities than former students who have been active in the travel industry for several years? During the Travel Talent Event at Vakantiebeurs, you can talk to young professionals from various positions and organizations in interactive sessions.

These young professionals completed their studies several years ago and will share their experiences in the travel industry during the event. They talk about their work experience, love for the industry and how to find your ideal job. You will get a unique insight into their personal experiences, the challenges they have overcome and the steps they have taken to get where they are today. And, of course, they'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Date: Thursday, Jan. 9.

Time: to be announced. There will be several 40-minute sessions that day for both college and MBO students.

Location: The Travel Talent Event will take place at Jaarbeurs, in the Croeze Hall, during Vakantiebeurs 2025. The entrance is between halls 8 & 7.

Prepare for your visit

The Vakantiebeurs is a great opportunity for students & young professionals to immerse themselves in the world of travel and tourism. However, it is essential to be well prepared to get the most out of your visit. Here are some valuable tips to prepare for your trip to the fair:

Bring your CV
Put together your resume and take several printed copies with you. You never know when a great opportunity arises to speak with a potential employer or internship provider. Make sure your resume highlights your skills, education and any relevant experiences.

Research the exhibitors present
Take the time to study the list of exhibitors before you go to the trade show. This will give you insight into which companies and organizations are present and what opportunities they offer. Try to understand what types of internships, jobs or learning experiences they offer and which of these best suit your interests.

Coming with more than 10 students and/or need an invoice of student tickets ordered? Then fill out this form. An invoice will be sent within 14 days and you will receive the tickets as a PDF by email. The form can be completed until December 31, 2024.

    Prepare for conversations with exhibitors

    When talking to exhibitors, it is important to be well prepared. Consider the following points:

    • Identify your strengths: Think about what sets you apart from other candidates. Is it your passion for travel, your language skills, your organizational skills, or something else? Emphasize these strengths in your interviews.
    • What do you want to learn: Set clear goals for what you want to accomplish at the fair. Do you want to learn more about specific destinations, the travel industry in general, or are you interested in specific jobs or internships? These goals will help you ask targeted questions of exhibitors.
    • Why a company should choose you: Think about what you have to offer to potential employers or internship providers. What makes you the ideal candidate for the positions you are interested in? Be prepared to communicate this with confidence.

    By following these steps and attending Vakantiebeurs well prepared, you will increase your chances of making valuable connections, gaining insights into the travel industry and possibly even taking the first steps toward an exciting career in the world of travel and tourism.
